When you want a snack, which food do you reach for? Chips or ice cream? What if you are attempting to eat better? It can be hard to find snacks that are both hearty and tasty specially if you are accustomed to reaching for highly sugared or salted snacks. In this article, you will learn how to put together your own nourishing snacks to fulfill those cravings. Below are foods you can consume while you watch your diet and weight. Does that sound unbelievable? Check it out!

Super tasty dipped pretzels are a great snack that you can consume that won’t make you feel like you are limited in terms of calorie count or meal size while still eating your favorite foods. Melt half a cup of semi sweet chocolate on the stove until it is just melted. This will take between 1.5 and 2 minutes and make sure that you stir it up really well before using it. Dip low salt or low sodium pretzels into the melted chocolate until they are well covered and then set them on parchment in a single layer. Let them cool at room temperature or put them in the fridge for roughly twenty minutes.

Spicy Tortilla Chips are snacks that, believe it or not, you can make on your own at home. Tortilla chips, when bought at the store, are ordinarily loaded and coated in salt and other terrible ingredients and are not at all healthy. For this yummy snack, you’ll be using corn tortillas to create your own chips. Slice roughly 10 corn tortillas in six parts. Put all of those pieces on to a baking sheet and then spray with a mixture of canola oil, chili powder, cumin and salt. Coat the tortilla pieces completely and then bake them in an oven at 350 degrees for abut 15 minutes. Give the chips time to cool off before consuming them.

Create yummy caramel corn! You are probably thinking that caramel corn is something you just can’t indulge in due to the sugar and calorie count. Prepare this healthy recipe instead. In a big stock pot, melt two tablespoons of butter and add two tablespoons of brown sugar, a fourth of a teaspoon of kosher salt, and a tablespoon of water. Whisk it all together and then dump in seven cups of air popped popcorn. If you enjoy lightly salted peanuts, add about an ounce of those as well. Mix everything together until the popcorn (and peanuts) is coated evenly and then allow it to cool before you consume it.

If you don’t mind doing some research, you can find a number of snack recipes that are low on bad ingredients, have fewer calories but that still taste extremely good. There are many great tasting selections for nutritious snacks available. You’ll need to be patient so that you can find those healthy and yummy recipes and then make them yourself. Being healthy and fit doesn’t have to be tough. Being healthy  entirely doable!
